“Radio Moscow is an American psychedelic rock band, that formed in Story City, Iowa in 2003. Currently comprising singer-songwriter and guitarist Parker Griggs (who also plays drums on the band's studio releases), bassist Zach Anderson and live drummer Cory Berry, the band has released two albums: Radio Moscow in 2007 and Brain Cycles in 2009. The band's song "Luckydutch" was featured on the soundtrack for the 2009 movie The Goods. Another one of their songs, "Broke Down" was featured in a recent RadioShack commercial.”

Music shops ARE punk.

Today I walked into a Local Music shop, which will remain un-named.

“What did you see?“ many of you(if there are any) may ask…

Absolutely nothing. That’s what I saw. Nothing. No new products,no boutique pedals, no patch cables, no tubes—NO service.

I am seldom impressed by the music shops in my region, but today I was utterly disgusted. Nobody greets you as you walking into shop or while your in the shop. Half the staff is standing outside the building having a smoke! I think its safe to say that the majority Musical Instrument shops have sold out. Then you hear music shops complain about other online shops or people ordering online and importing musical items and the fact that they are losing business.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!!!

If your not going to add value to a client’s buying experience then personally I’d rather buy from a Robot. And no I don’t mean the new Gibson Robot. Thanks Gibson for giving the masses another new product that NO-ONE asked for.

That’s my rant for the day.

Rambling on my mind…

So I recently walked into a Look and Listen and found the complete discography of Mr. Robert Johnson on a neat two CD compilation. Having heard all the hype around the this artist I decided to buy the Album. At first it’s a bit harsh on the ears. Very coarse, unpolished, whiny and even some untimely melodies and chord changes.
Everything that is blues.
When listening to the album it seems all to familiar. Like you’ve finally come home.
Familiar licks, timing, turnarounds and even lyrics. This is what inspired all the modern blues players. Thrilling. Haunting. The emotions RJ portrays in his songs are feelings we all have felt.
Anger. Fear. Love. Anguish.
Every word he still recites is still relevant, even in todays times.
